Charles A. Snow

Charles A. Snow passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center at the age of 90 with his family by his side.

Charles was born on July 16, 1932, in Birmingham, Alabama. He was the middle of five children born to his parents Charles Lester Snow and Minnie Theola Bellotte. Charles moved to Miami at the age of 3, graduated from Miami High School and spent the rest of his life in the community.

He married Peggy Ann Rouse on May 28, 1953, and they were married just shy of 70 years. They had a long and happy life together, raising their children, traveling the world, and enjoying their friends and family.

Charles worked at Inspiration Consolidated Copper Company, later Freeport-McMoRan, for 35 years. He was an avid golfer, bowler and active member of Divine Grace Presbyterian Church. Throughout his life he volunteered wherever his services were needed, including Habitat for Humanity, the Gila County Historical Museum and the Bullion Plaza Cultural Center & Museum.

He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was well known for his kindness, sense of humor, work ethic and love of children.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, sister Josephine Kent and brother William Snow. He is survived by his wife Peggy, son David (Rhonda) Snow, daughter Nancy Dye (Mark Broadus), and grandchildren Kathy (John) DeWitt , Isaac (Mae) Snow, Leah Troglia and Lauren (Nathan) Mitchell. He is also survived by his sister Peggy Moma, brother James (Judy) Snow, cousins Jane (Tom) Hale and Kathy Johnson, eight great-grandchildren Tyler Looney, Makayla DeWitt, Kiara Snow, Paul Troglia, Jordan Troglia, Alice Snow, Cannon Snow and Aubrey Mitchell, and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 17, 2023, from 1 – 4 p.m. at the Miami Senior Citizen Center, 506 W. Live Oak St. in Miami.
