Robert William “Bob” Bowyer was called home to reunite with his wife, Karen Bowyer, on April 22, 2023. Robert was born to Earl and Birdie Bowyer in Charleston, West Virginia on June 29, 1943. Robert soon followed his beloved wife to Globe, Arizona in 1964.

Bob loved to tell the story of his family and brothers as there were 8 boys and 3 sets of twins. Being one of those twins, he always made sure everyone knew he was a twin, always showing everyone the book that had the story of their family, talking about all the brothers and the uniqueness of them. Robert knew he wanted to serve in the armed forces and in 1963 he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam from 1963 to 1964. Robert was honorably discharged in 1969, receiving the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

Robert and Karen married in March 1965, had three children and made a home. They both loved to dance, go camping and taking mini trips. Robert loved to fish and hunt. He looked forward to hunting season every year and would keep on his son to make sure he put him in. Robert worked in the copper mines and retired aft er 30-plus years. He finished off his work years at the Arizona Department of Transportation and then retired fully. Once he retired he focused on his grandkids, picking them up from school, taking them for snacks and watching movies. He was so very proud of each one of his grandkids.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Birdie Bowyer, his wife Karen Bowyer, and his brothers Earl Jr., Donald, Lee and Danny Bowyer. He is survived by his daughter Kimberly Salcido and sons Robert Bowyer Jr. and Brad (Rachel) Bowyer. He is also survived by his brothers Ronnie Bowyer, Claude (Sue) Bowyer and Johnny Bowyer. Robert (Pawpo) will be missed by all his grandchildren, Megan (Johnny) Martinez, Aron Roberts, Destiney (Aaron) Dawson, Sean (Berenise) Bowyer, Bryanna (Autumn) Taufa, Mishelle Bowyer and Cody Bowyer. Pawpo will also be missed by his great-grandchildren Presley and John John Martinez, and Brady and Bodhi Bowyer.

Robert (Pawpo) will be missed by everyone, but we all know he will be looking down on all of us every  single day and making sure we get the lucky scratch tickets!!
