Samual Floyd Hicks, born June 28, 1968, in Sikeston, Missouri, entered into God’s grace April 23, 2023.

He was known to those who love him as Sam or Sammy.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Lanetta Copeland; his pride and joy, his daughter Carly Hicks (Lopez); his stepchildren (who were his children) Lyle (Ruth) Copeland, Rusty (Danielle) Toumberlin, Brian Toumberlin, Ricky (Felicity) Olivarez and Michelle Dickison; his grandchildren, whom he adored with his whole heart, Nevaeh, Desirae, Dreyten, Rhia, Brantley, Payton, Reagan, Cora, Contessa, Cara, Lilly, Kai and Abigail; one greatly treasured great-grandson, Robert Gage; his brother Danny (Donna) Hicks; sisters Penny (Cliff ) Beasley, Donna Fabey, Janie (Mike) Drews and Lori (David) Dickerson; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jerry and Frankie Hicks, brother Scotty Hicks, and his baby boy Samuel Hicks.

He first moved to Arizona on a D-1 scholarship. He loved baseball. He loved Globe; it was home, whether it be the people he knew and loved or the nature that surrounded him. He thoroughly enjoyed just getting out and hitting the hills or the lake. Sam was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He had the kindest, most genuine heart. Family was his greatest treasure. He loved you and you felt it! He had the most contagious and charismatic energy about him. He quite literally lit up a room! His fun-loving, goofy and warm personality touched so many. He loved making everyone around him laugh and smile. He loved tinkering and playing in his yard. He took great pride in the way it was kept. His joyful hobbies included going out for rides in the hills, fishing, spending time with family and BBQs. He will be forever remembered for all of the LOVE, laughter and happiness he brought to everyone’s life!

Services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Bulman Miles Chapel Globe, with Visitation at 12 p.m. and Funeral Services at 1 p.m.
