Participants in the Fourth Annual Broad Street Beard Battle — men, women and children alike — assemble on Saturday, Dec. 8 on the steps of the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts in historic downtown Globe.

The 4-hour “beard-stravaganza” featured six categories, including Beauty and the Beard (for beards more than eight inches); Baby Beard (less than eight inches); Mustache Ride (most creative mustache); Goatee Daddy (vertical brilliance); Momma Beard (for women), and Vision-Hairy for most creative beard.

There was also a relay that featured teams running to Farley’s Pub to drink a pint of their favorite beverage.

Each entrant paid a $25 entry fee that will go toward rehabilitating the historic Odd Fellows neon sign on Broad Street.

Johnnyd Flores of Dominion Cutting Company was the organizer and master of ceremonies.
