Beloved mother and grandmother, Edna Vinck, has gone to be with the Lord on July 20, 2019 at the age of 101.

Edna is survived by her daughter Janis Louthis of Aspen, Colo., her son Gary Vinck of Globe, Ariz., six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill Vinck (78 years of marriage), daughter Linda Youngman, son Bill Vinck, as well as her three brothers William, Paul and Russell.

Edna was born on April 26, 1918 in Steubenville, Ohio. She and her family moved to Globe in the early 1950s.

She was devoted to the democratic party helping with many, many elections, both state and federal. She was a member of the Emblem Club for many years. She was appointed to Arizona Mineral Resource Board of Governors in 1984 and served two terms. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Cobre Valley Hospital as well as the Miami Food Bank.

She loved to cook, for decades, she provided food for her church and community. She loved cards, bingo and gardening. She had a gift for growing beautiful flowers which she always shared with her friends. She was the center of her family and ensured all holidays were special family gatherings. Her energy and loving nature was evident wherever or whenever you saw her. She loved Globe, she loved Arizona and she loved her family and friends. She will be remembered for the fantastic pomegranate jelly which she made every year and gave away for all to enjoy.

She spent her life devoted to God, her family and her community.

A funeral is scheduled for Aug. 5, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Globe, with a reception to follow. Pastor John Skaggs will officiate the ceremony.
