Etta Louise Carter

Etta Louise Carter, 76, passed away at her home in Globe on May 13, 2023. She was born in Tucson on Sept. 2, 1946, to Albert and Louise Carter.

She graduated Miami High School in 1964. She was married to her husband Joseph Johnson for 58 years and worked for the Globe Public Schools for 42 years, serving many roles and touching the lives of so many of the youth in the Globe/Miami area. Etta was the kind of person who was always there for others. She was super loving to all and always tried to make others laugh. No matter the situation someone was in, she would always be there to help. She always had a positive attitude and enjoyed being around her family the most. She loved to craft and decorate, and did so at several weddings and parties for friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her brothers Larry Carter and Bill Carter and her sister Sally Webb. She is survived by her husband, sister Mary (Bill) Goodman and son Christopher (Seneca) Johnson. She also had two grandchildren, Carter and Sawaia Johnson.

A Celebration of Life was held on Wednesday, May 31 at 11 a.m., at Sovereign Grace Baptist Church located at 201 Yuma St. in Globe. All who knew and cherished her were invited to attend.
