As part of our commitment to support community efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, Freeport McMoRan’s Miami operations is cancelling the annual Globe-Miami July Fourth fireworks show. We regret having to do so, as this is a proud tradition that we look forward to sharing with our community each year.
Our top priority remains the health and safety of our employees, their families and our community. With thousands attending the fireworks show each year, cancelling helps mitigate the potential risk of transmission associated with large gatherings as well as support social distancing protocols.
While we are disappointed, know this decision was made after speaking with community stakeholders who also agreed it is the right thing to do.
