Globe Rotary to plant Peace Pole

Posted

A year in the making, Globe Rotary first presented their club members with the idea of ordering a Peace Pole in March of 2020. Covid-19 caused a delay in planting the pole and presenting it to the communities.

A Peace Pole is an internationally-recognized symbol of the hopes and dreams of the entire human family, standing vigil in silent prayer for peace on earth. Each Peace Pole bears the message “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in different languages on each of its sides. The Globe Rotary Peace Pole message is transcribed in English, Spanish and Apache.

Globe Rotary is hoping the pole will inspire and remind people to think, speak and act in the spirit of peace.

There are an estimated  250,000 Peace Poles in every country in the world, dedicated as monuments to peace.

The Globe Rotary Peace Pole dedication will be Wednesday, June 2, at 6 p.m. at the Globe City Hall Park.

There will be a short dedication by Rev. Grahe and all are welcomed to attend.
