Josephine Campos Pastor passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019. She was 91 years of age. Josephine was surrounded by her loving family at the place she called home for the last six years of her life, The Summit Memory Care at Sunland Springs, Mesa, Ariz. She now rests in the loving arms of her Lord, Jesus Christ.

Josephine was affectionately known as “Fina or Josie” to her family and friends. She was born in Miami, Ariz., on Sept. 3, 1927 to Jose Campos, Sr., and Belen Catano. She was one of five children and was preceded in death by her brothers S/Sgt. Joe who was the first Arizonan killed in the Korean War, Manual “Melito,” Vicente “Vito,” and sister, Lucille “Lucy,” Guerrero. In 1945, Josephine graduated from Miami High School where she met her husband Mike Pastor who also preceded her in death. Mike and Josie married in 1947 then had four boys, Michael, Bobby, Steve, and David.

She was a founding member of various ladies’ groups at Our Ladies of the Blessed Sacrament. She and Mike were devoted parishioners.

Josephine will long be remembered by many who remain behind her including her sons Michael, Bobby, Steve and David--their wives Linda, Kathy, Judy, and Mary Jane, Sisters-in-law Jessie Campos and Jovita Campos, brother-in-law Fernando Guerrero, goddaughter Jennie Campos, godson Paco Jiminez, eight grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Services for Josephine were held on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019 at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Miami, Ariz. Josephine was laid to rest next to her husband, Mike, at the Miami Memorial Garden Cemetery at the entrance of Miami, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be designated for “Religious Education” or “Funeral Luncheons” at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Miami, Ariz.
