Knutson Chatlin

Knutson Chatlin, age 76, of San Carlos, Ariz., passed away on March 30, 2021 at his residence in San Carlos. He was born in San Carlos on Nov. 20, 1944, the son of Mark Hanna and Madeline (Logan) Chatlin.

He attended Rice Elementary, Stewart Indian School in Stewart, New Mexico. He was the director for the Tribal Work Experience Program. He had also worked for Tribal Finance, Housing and Forestry.

Knutson enjoyed being outdoors, spending time with his family fishing and hunting.

He liked watching basketball since he had played it in school.

He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Vannetta Lynn Chatlin.

Knutson is survived by his wife Ophilia (Mason) Chatlin, his children Barletta Palmer, Anaya Chatlin, Riley Lee Chatlin, Van Lee Chatlin and Neva V. Chatlin, his siblings McFarland Chatlin and Vada A. Bendle, 14 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Wake will be on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 4 p.m. at the Chatlin residence in San Carlos, Ariz.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Burdette Hall in San Carlos.
