The Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court No. 2634, from Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Miami, recognized April as Child Abuse Awareness Month.

As part of that recognition, members of the Catholic Daughters handed out blue ribbons to wear for the month of April and material to report child abuse and also showed a video to bring awareness to child abuse.

The Catholic Daughters also had a diaper drive and a 50/50 raffle in which the diapers and half of the 50/50 raffle proceeds were chosen to benefit the Gila County Safe House.

Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church also had a special church collection and all proceeds were going to benefit the local Gila Safe House.

Officers with the Catholic Daughters presented Carolyn Gillis, with the Gila Safe Haven Domestic Violence Safe Home, a $600 check along with diapers collected from the Diaper Drive at the meeting held May 16.
