Rose Mary “Rosie” Grice

On Thursday, June 2, 2022, Rose Mary “Rosie” Grice, wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away suddenly at the age of 72 years.

Rosie was born in Miami, Arizona, on April 20, 1950, to Eugene and Estefana Santellanes. She was one of nine children.

A loving mother and homemaker, Rosie was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, most especially over the holidays. After her kids were grown, she worked for a short time at Walmart and then worked many years as the Bailiff for Gila County Superior Court. She was a dedicated sports fan and attended countless ATV races and soccer, basketball and softball games for her grandchildren, rarely ever missing a race or a game. She loved shopping, crafting and making blankets for loved ones and friends during her spare time.

Rosie is preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Estefana, her sisters Ruth, Genny and Terri, and her brother Gene.

She is survived by her husband James of Globe; her sons Frank (Sherry) Grice of Globe and Stephan (Brandy) Grice of Queen Creek; and her five grandchildren Adrianna (Zack) Guerin of Queen Creek, Cheyanne Grice of Mesa, Jaydan Grice of Globe, Brianna Grice of Queen Creek and Jazlyn Grice of Globe. Rosie is also survived by her siblings Mike Santellanes of Tempe, David Santellanes of Phoenix, Ruben Santellanes of Globe and Sally Alonzo of Globe, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Rosary was held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 844 W. Sullivan St., Miami, Arizona.
