United Fund of Globe-Miami, Inc. Kicks off YEAR OF YES!

Posted

MIAMI — On Oct. 15, United Fund of Globe-Miami agencies for the 2020 funding year gathered at Cobre Valley Recreation Center for lunch, the annual campaign kick-off, and an exciting announcement. At press time, campaigns are active at all local employers participating in payroll-deduct donations: APS, Capstone, Freeport-McMoRan, Gila County, City of Globe, and Twenty-nine local non-profit projects received certificates detailing $433,670 in operational funding support. The funding announcements are a strong contrast to the vintage United Fund campaign ad from 1970 whose goal was $73,000.

Lunch catered by Jordan Johnson (Vida e Caffe, Globe) included chicken and pork sandwiches, sweet potato and green salads, chocolate covered strawberries, and airy cheesecake bites.

The biggest news from the 2020 Kick Off Luncheon, however, is the YEAR OF YES! grant application opportunity!

Applications are due by Dec. 1.

To apply for funding, the project must be a multi-partner project including at least one agency from the United Fund list of 2020 funded agencies and must be able to be completed in the 2020 calendar year.
