Agencies, businesses, groups: Sign up for Read-On Express

Posted

Already a magical space, Globe’s historic Train Depot is transformed into a Copper Country Santa’s workshop when the Read-On Express returns each year. Organizers invite agencies, businesses and community groups to sign up for booths where they are welcome to distribute resource information and host some engaging activities for the kiddos and families who will visit.

This holiday season event on Saturday afternoon, December 9 gives children a taste of the North Pole, thanks to yuletide magic created by dedicated volunteers – and generous sponsors helping provide fun and surprises. Afternoon events include a chance for kids to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, Christmas stories, a train ride and - most important - free new books for kiddos! Afternoon events are open to all kids who attend.

One of the holiday season’s most festive afternoons, the Globe/Miami Christmas Read-On Express is devoted to children’s literacy for Globe, Miami and San Carlos area children. The Read-On Express is dedicated to bringing the love of reading to all children and to their families. It’s also an impressive non-profit collaboration of more than 40 local organizations, government agencies, civic groups and businesses – united each Christmastime to promote childhood literacy and free family fun. To sign up as an exhibitor, donate or volunteer with this event, please email Julie Craig JulieC@azyp.org or call (928) 961-0426.
