Applications are available for the 2024 Christmas Light Parade in downtown Globe, and this year’s parade theme is “Christmas Traditions.”
The parade, with colorful lighted floats filled with music and Christmas cheer galore, will start at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14. The route starts and entries line up at the east end of Broad Street, near the teepee and Globe Public Library. From there the route heads toward the train trestle running along historic Broad Street from Cottonwood to Yuma Streets in historic downtown.
The event includes live music on the old courthouse bandstand starting at 5 p.m., along with cocoa, popcorn and food trucks on Oak Street. A second announcing station with music and more, sponsored by Western Reprographics, will be located near Bailey Street. Plus, a bonus event will be held over at the 1910 Jail courtyard on Oak Street, run by Joshua Caroll and filled with live punk rock bands playing Christmas music from 12 to 9, pausing for some parade shenanigans.
Parade applications are available at the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts and the historic 19190 Jail.
