Corda Marie Nelms was released into the arms of her heavenly father March 3.
Marie’s greatest calling was that of a devoted wife, loving and nurturing mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was a founding member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and a truly committed Christian woman.
Marie was the widow of Carter Nelms, a Globe native. She is survived by her children Corda (Jon) Colvin, Lee (Norma) Nelms, Don (Kathy) Nelms and Anne (John) Trujillo; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life was held on March 9 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 750 Paxton Ave., Miami. Burial followed at Mountain Breeze Cemetery.
The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, donations to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Savior Hospice and Palliative Care, 4530 E. Shea Blvd., #160, Phoenix, Ariz. 85028. Please note “donation” on the check.
