Dawn Elaine Every Copeland-Yates passed away at the age of 75 on March 15, 2025, surrounded by her family and so much love in Globe, Arizona. Dawn was born on August 24, 1949, in Preston, Minnesota to John Sr. and Vennetta (Sanford) Every. She attended school and graduated from Chosen Valley high School in Chatfield, Minnesota. She moved to Globe in 1987. She worked at Safeway for 24 years and retired in 2019. She loved her family, her church, her friends, traveling, camping, dancing, concerts, yoga, exercising, karaoke, singing in her church choir and Elvis. She was an amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with a heart of gold.

Dawn is survived by her loving children: Michael (Leslie) Prigge, Tessie Copeland, Loren (Tracy) Copeland, Michele Knowlton, David (Ellen) Copeland, Danielle (Christopher) Uto, Mandrielle Schelble, and her bonus daughter Tami (Manuel) Alvarez and many grandchildren including Emma Prigge, Ryan (Kourtney) Prigge, Byron (Rachel) Haught, Morgan Langley, Kayla Valenzuela, Rebecca Copeland, Mackenzie (TR) Goodwin, Courtnie Copeland, Colten Copeland, Debra Jordan, Justin Castaneda, Austin Skaggs, Brandon Skaggs, Dillon Holland, Taylor Holland, Aubree (Garrett) Santa Maria, Averie Gardner, Jace Gardner, Jayden Warren, Payten Uto, Owen Uto, Jacob (Sabryna) Valtierra, Payton Schelble, Brayden Schelble, Stephen McCullough, Alianna Taylor and Ahmira Taylor as well as 27 Great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild due in August, 2025

She was affectionately known as GiGi. She also leaves behind her sisters: Stacia Pillatzki and Anita Livingston along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: John Every Sr. and Vennetta Copeland, Her husbands: Gary Prigge, Larry Copeland Sr., William “Dwight” Yates, her son Larry Copeland Jr., her sister Denese Copeland-Donovan, brother John Every Jr. and brother-in-law Tim “Picky” Pillatzki.

Dawn is a cherished member of her community and was loved by many and will be deeply missed by many. Services will be held on Friday March 28, 2025. Viewing: 10 a.m., Services at 11:00 a.m. at the Central Heights Baptist Church in Globe, Arizona. Graveside services will follow at the Mt. Breeze Memorial Gardens in Miami, Arizona. Followed by the reception at the Central Heights Baptist Church in Globe, Arizona.
