On Monday, Oct. 31, 2022 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. please join the Globe Downtown Association for this annual community-gift trick-or-treat event night in historic downtown Globe. With usual estimated crowds of well over 5,000 folks all spread out throughout our historic downtown, come ready to meet and greet and trick-or-treat along Broad Street. The Trick-or-Treat portion of the event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., or until each station runs out of treats. Simply start anywhere along Broad Street from Yuma Street to Sycamore Street, Sycamore Street to Yuma Street, or anywhere in between. Encouraging to enter the line anywhere in the zone will help disperse the hugely congested crowd of tiny batmen and princesses that annually pile up at Sycamore St.
For 2022 the block-party will have four music-related staging areas (Sycamore, Oak, Mesquite & Hackney), car show participants and family trunk-or-treat stations, sidewalk chalking, a storefront decorations contest (voting by event hashtag #globehalloween2022), the ever-favorite huge costume contest and so much more. Additionally, for the kiddos, the 1910 territorial jail on Oak St. will be open as a “spooky jail” for round-the-cell block locked up monsters simple tank-walks. Free to the public, but a can of food or non-perishable food items are encouraged for the St. John’s Episcopal food pantry next door.
We are also extremely excited to be able to bring back the in-person and famous photo booth on Broad with the talented photographer Yevette Vargas and her team from Ms. Yevette Photography. Every photo taken will be uploaded online for the hashtag-entry community costume contest, free of charge. (Photos will additionally be available for purchase, as per tradition, but no purchase necessary). In addition, we will still be hosting the fun hashtag-entry community social media pumpkin carving and costume contest (#globehalloween2022).
