Joyce "Sissy" Janell Wheeler, age 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 8, 2025. She was born on January 7, 1946, in Globe, Arizona, to Cecil and Leona Wheeler.
Joyce was a 1964 graduate of Globe High School. She began her career as a classroom aide for special education at both Globe High School and Globe Junior High School. Later, she dedicated 30 years of service working at Globe Safeway.
She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures—being outdoors, hunting, bowling, and spending time with her family. She built many friendships with her kind and true hearted nature.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Eddie. She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda (Nolin) Grimes and Jodi (Alan) Jones; her brother, Billie Wheeler; her grandchildren, Jeremy Maggard, Amanda Duncan, George Grimes, Molly Grimes, Brooklyn Baer, and Bradley Bershad; several great-grandchildren; and numerous friends who will deeply miss her presence.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 10, at 3:30 p.m. at the American Legion in Globe, Arizona.
