Judy Porter

Judy Porter passed away on April 2, 2023 surrounded by her family at home. She was born in Globe, Az. Jan. 3, 1938 to Carl and Effie Bishop. She resided in Globe and Tucson. Judy graduated from the Arizona State School for the Deaf and Blind before going to Lamson’s Business College in Tucson. She worked at the Pima County Assessor’s Office, where she retired in 2001. After her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends.

Judy was a sister to Carroll Peebles, lifelong companion to Charles Porter (deceased), loving mother to Mary Glover and Charlie Porter, Gramma to 8 grandchildren and Great Gramma to 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her dearly.

We will always remember her for her butterfly kisses and “I Love You” sign. Fly High, Mommy. We know you’re dancing in Heaven.

Memorial service will be June 3, 2023, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Pima County Historic Courthouse, 115 N. Church Ave. in the Turquoise conference room on the first floor. Parking is available at the downtown library and El Presidio parking garage for a fee or on-street parking.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Arizona State School for the Deaf and Blind Tucson Campus, 1200 W. Speedway Blvd. Tucson, Az. 85745. In memo please put Museum / Library in memory of Judy Bishop Porter. Donations can also be made to the Gila County Historical Museum or Globe Train Depot Museum.
