Paul Baca Tafoya, 77, of Globe, Arizona, peacefully went home to his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023.
Paul was born on Nov. 7, 1946, in Morenci, Arizona, to Vidal and Delores Tafoya.
He grew up in Safford, Arizona, where he attended school prior to entering the US Navy at the age of 17. After serving five years active in the Navy, he continued his military career and retired from the Seabees Naval Reserves.
Paul also went on to pursue his career as a machinist at Inspiration Mine (later Cyprus and then Phelps Dodge) for over 30 years when he retired in Miami, Arizona.
Paul was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and watching his Steelers play. But above all, Paul loved and adored his grandchildren. They would brighten his day and put a smile on his face. He would sit for hours watching them play. Paul was a kind and generous man willing to give a hand to help anyone in need.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents Vidal and Delores Tafoya, his son Paul Steven Tafoya and his best friend/brother Pablo Benavidez Jr.
Paul is survived by his five children Debra Villalobos (Edward), Angela Tafoya, Jessica Tafoya, Alex Tafoya and Marcus Tafoya (Cassie); his 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; his sister Cecilia Dominguez; and many others who became family. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten, by many.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. at Living Waters Church, 125 Haskins Rd. in Globe, Arizona.
Assisting the family: Lamont Mortuary of Globe.
