Ron Ray passed away on April 12, 2025, at the age of 76. Born in Jerome, Arizona, on January 31, 1949, he is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Sandy Ray; his daughters and their spouses, DeeDee Palmer and Janet Acevado, Christine Amador and Manuel Amador; his grandchildren, Dennis and Bobbi Jo Palmer, Trista and Orin Kauers, Chy and Michael Felix, and Hunter Garner; and his 11 great-grandchildren, Madison Palmer, Brayden Kauers, Stratton Palmer, Caelynn Phillips, Autianna Garner, Gaedge Phillips, Traytton Palmer, Lucy Perez, Jayce Kauers, Addyson Salas, and Avery Kauers. Ron also leaves behind three brothers, one sister, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Ron graduated from Globe High School in 1967 and served in the Air Force during the Vietnam period. He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially when shared with friends and family. He was truly a “Jack of All Trades” Ron dedicated 35 years of his life to the copper industry, retiring in 2009. At his request, private family services will be held.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Martha Trampp and Richard Ray; his sister, Donna Blevins; and his great-grandson, Easton Palmer.
