The motto for our preschoolers has been: “Si Se Puede” – “It Can Be Done.”
Ms. Linda Quintana and Dr. Carmen Garcia assisted Ms. Baca with the graduates as they prepared for this special day.
Graduation was held outdoors, with twenty-five in attendance to witness an enjoyable morning celebration. Guest in attendance was Mr. Spence Preston, retired police officer, having served the Globe – Miami area.
It all began with the three children who will be entering kindergarten next fall: Roman Johnson, who proudly made the entrance carrying the U.S flag, followed by Aiden Moses carrying the Arizona state flag and Guy Curzon proudly carrying a folder containing the lessons and activities they had learned this past year. The children recited the Pledge of Allegiance both in English and in Spanish, followed by a verse about our American flag and a prayer for our soldiers in service. This was followed by singing “Good Morning to You,” then repeating it having audience participants joining in.
The children then proceeded by demonstrating the skills they have learned during this past year by responding to questions posed by their teacher, namely:
They counted from 1 to 30 both in English and in Spanish. The children then sang the following songs: ABC ---Brown Cow---Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star---How Much is the Doggie in the Window---The Wheels on the Bus.
Each of the children then presented their mother with a bouquet of flowers, after which their teacher called each of the 3 children who will be entering kindergarten next year to receive their diploma of completion. This was followed up with the two younger children who will return to continue their studies in the fall, as they were presented with their certificate of completion.
Upon the completion of the ceremony, the children enjoyed a special treat at De Marco’s, with pizza, soda and the donation of cupcakes by the Luevano family.
