Santa, Cocoa & Cookies And Free Books for Kids Dec. 14

Posted

Already a magical space, Globe’s historic Depot train station is transformed into a downtown Globe version of Santa’s workshop when the Read-On Express returns Saturday, Dec. 14 from noon to 4 p.m.

Organizers invite agencies, businesses, and community groups to sign up for booths where they’re welcome to distribute resource information and host an engaging activity for the kiddos and families who will visit.

This holiday season event gives children a taste of the North Pole, thanks to yuletide magic created by dedicated volunteers - and generous sponsors helping provide fun and surprises. Afternoon events include a chance for kids to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, Christmas stories, a train ride, and -- most importantly -- free new books for kiddos!

One of the holiday season’s most festive afternoons, the Read-On Express is devoted to literacy for Globe, Miami and San Carlos area children. The Read-On Express is dedicated to bringing the love of reading to all children and to their families. It’s also an impressive non-profit collaboration of dozens of local organizations, government agencies, civic groups, and businesses – united each Christmastime to promote childhood literacy and free family fun.
