Sharon Anderson Holley Crittenden, 81, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025, in Globe, Arizona. Born on September 24, 1943, in Flagstaff, Sharon was raised in Oak Creek Canyon, where her family owned and ran Junipine Cabins. Growing up among the canyon walls and cool waters of the creek shaped her deep love for Arizona’s beauty. She graduated from Flagstaff High School and carried her Arizona roots with her wherever life took her.
Sharon devoted many years to the students of Miami High School as a beloved teacher's aide. She was known for her warmth, humor, and fierce support of her students—especially as a proud sponsor of the pom-pom squad.
Later in life, Sharon followed her adventurous spirit to Wyoming, where she worked for an outfitter and fell in love with the mountains and a cowboy named Paul Crittenden. They were married in 1997 and shared a colorful life until Paul's passing in 2019. Sharon often spoke fondly of their home and adventures.
A devoted animal lover, Sharon's constant companions were her beloved dogs Pia and Scruffy, and her cat Scrappy. In her later years, as COPD kept her closer to home, Sharon found joy in the little things: tending to her ever-growing collection of plants, making frequent treasure hunts through the dollar store, and keeping up on current events with her favorite news channel — always at full volume.
Sharon is survived by her children Heather Sharp (Jeff), Steve Holley (Kim), and Larry Holley (Michelle); her stepson Sam Crittenden (Alix); her brothers Larry (Sandy) and Gary (Kathy); two step-granddaughters; and four step-great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of strength and unconditional love.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to your local animal shelter in Sharon’s memory.
Sharon chose to donate her body to science, hoping to contribute to the education of future caregivers and the advancement of medical knowledge. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center for the tender and respectful care they gave Sharon in her final days.
