Troy Wayne Curbey, age 72, of Miami, Arizona, passed away surrounded by his family at home in Miami, Arizona. He was born on May 4, 1951, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Roy and Dorothy Curbey.

He graduated from Miami High School and later joined the Army. Troy was a proud Vietnam veteran who served our country from 1971-1977. After the service, Troy worked for Phelps Dodge, Hanna Nickel Mine and various contractors at Freeport McMoRan in 2004. He then went on to work as a maintenance supervisor in the acid plant at Freeport McMoRan, where he retired in 2017. His job duties included welding, pipefitting and being a mechanic.

Troy was also involved in a few different clubs locally, such as Globe-Miami Vigilantes, Gila Bass Club, Copper Dust Stampede Rodeo, Copper Country Old Time Fiddlers and more! He enjoyed fishing, camping, riding 4-wheelers and kayaking. But most of all, Troy was a huge family man. He loved his family to pieces.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 45 years, Carolyn. He is also survived by a brother, Vern Curbey (Reta), and by his children: Kenny Curbey (Rondell), Traci Anzaldua (Joe) and Rob Larwood (Sandy). He had nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

“Go rest high on that mountain, Troy. Your work here on Earth is done.”

A private family service will be held at a later date.
