Gila County Sheriff’s Office receives funding for Overtime and PBT devices

GLOBE — The Gila County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) has received $22,779  to purchase ten PBT devices and to fund overtime related to DUI/Impaired Driving Enforcement. 

The Gila County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting saturation patrols and DUI task force operations throughout Gila County. 

The goals of the Sheriff’s Office are to decrease the number of crashes, serious injuries and fatalities related to DUI/Impaired drivers. 

They will also be working with the schools throughout Gila County to provide presentations related to DUI/Impaired related issues to increase awareness.

Sheriff Shepherd would like to thank the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for their partnership and assistance. “We will continue to enforce the laws related to DUI/Impaired driving as we strive to keep our community safe.”
