Daniel Eugene Strandberg, age 71, peacefully passed away at his home in Globe, Arizona on June 15, 2023.

Dan was born in Galesburg, Illinois on Oct. 21, 1951, to Robert and Shirley (Lenz) Strandberg. In 1970, Dan married Nancy K. Rosenberg in Galesburg. Together they had three sons, Christopher, Jason and Timothy. Dan and Nan later divorced, but remained friends.

Dan is survived by his sons Christopher Strandberg and Jason (Amanda) Strandberg, both of Canton, Illinois. He also leaves to cherish his memory six grandchildren, Kennedy, Hannah, Ethan, Hayden, Carter and Avery, and two great-grandchildren, Everly and Jaxon. Also surviving him are his three sisters, Nancy Crawford, Pam Brewer and Lisa Henderson. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved son Timothy Jon and his brother Timothy Alan Strandberg.

Dan worked many jobs over his lifetime, but was most proud of his degree in Radiologic Technology. He worked at Mason District Hospital in Havana, Illinois, where he was affectionately known as “X-ray Dan.” Upon his retirement Dan moved to Globe, where he remained until his death.

Dan enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing and taking his canoe down the Spoon River with his buddy Kevin Miller. He loved Arizona and watching the sunsets from his back porch. Most of all, Dan loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Per Dan’s wishes, there will be no services and cremation rites have been accorded. Assisting the family in this difficult time is the staff at Lamont Mortuary of Globe, whom Dan considered friends as well as neighbors. A special thanks from Dan’s family also goes to Max Madewell and Joe Simmons. Their kindness to Dan will not be forgotten.

Any donation in Dan’s memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a charity he supported.
