Downtown Globe Annual Halloween Block Party 2023

Posted

Please join the Globe Downtown Association Tuesday night, Oct. 31, for this annual community-gift trick-or-treat event night in historic downtown Globe. With usual estimated crowds of well over 5,000 folks all spread out throughout our historic downtown, come ready to meet and greet and trick-or-treat along Broad Street. The street will be closing for the fun from Sycamore to Yuma, starting at 5 p.m.

The trick-or-treat portion of the event runs from 5:30-7 p.m., or until each station runs out. We encourage guests to simply start anywhere they wish along Broad Street from Yuma Street to Sycamore Street, or Sycamore Street to Yuma Street. Encouraging everyone to enter the line anywhere in the zone will help disperse the highly congested crowd of tiny batmen and princesses that annually pile up for two blocks at Sycamore.

For 2023 we are planning for four music- related hubs (Sycamore, Oak, Mesquite and Hackney), car show participants, family trunk-or-treat stations, on Broad Street and sidewalk chalking, storefront and candy station decorations contest with people’s- choice voting by hashtag and voting station at the 1910 Jail (#GlobeAZHalloween). Oak Street will also feature a food truck food court, and the 1910 territorial jail will be open as a kid-friendly “spooky jail” for round-the-cell block simple tank walks, free to the public (can of food for the St. Johns food pantry next door encouraged).

We are also extremely excited to be able to once again bring back the in-person and famous photo booth on Broad with the talented photographer Yevette Vargas and her team from Ms. Yevette Photography. Every photo taken will be uploaded online for the hashtag-entry community costume contest, free of charge. (Photos will additionally be available for purchase, as per tradition). In addition, will still be hosting the fun hashtag-entry community social media pumpkin carving and costume contest. #GlobeAZHalloween.

Special thanks in advance to the amazing army of volunteers at the Globe Downtown Association (aka Historic Globe Main Street), the Globe Public Works team, Globe Police, Globe Fire, and Globe Events Committee, for without you this event could never happen. Additional thanks go out to the countless businesses, community groups, churches, organizations, clubs, and families who annually participate in this event with us. We know how much candy and toys you purchase to donate and are so thankful to the moon for you! Additional thanks & gratitude go out for the countless pounds of candy that is donated by you, our community. With the help of our ATV runner angels, we get to joyfully redistribute the donations throughout the event. Thank you all! See you on Halloween night, or feel free to pop by the 1910 Jail (Th-Sat 11-2), the CVCA, the City of Globe, or your favorite merchant before the event to donate wrapped & sealed bags of candy. We are a community most blessed.
